HD, Quick Time, Windows Media and Flash Video

The use of digital video in a Rich Media application can bring your CD-ROM or Web site to life.

History

I first started using video in my work in 1985 using Philips Laserdisc systems. And then in 1991 I worked on my first digital video system for a training CD-ROM for Ciba Geigy. Since then I have used both Windows Video and QuickTime Video systems within Director and Flash.

Software

I use Apple's Final Cut Pro Studio 2 as well as Adobe Premiere Pro 3 and Adobe After Effects 8 to edit from HD sources and then use Sorenson Squeeze to encode for the Web using either Real Media, Windows Media Video, QuickTime or Flash Video playback.

As a graduate of The Brighton Film School, I can also shoot the video for you using a Sony V1 HDV camera.

Formats

I can work with many video formats including:

  • Apple QuickTime .MOV
  • Windows Media Format .WMV
  • Flash Video .FLV
  • Real Media .RM
  • MPEG-2 .mpg
  • MPEG-4 .mpg
  • HD
